Upgraded Diverter Valve for C250.
Has anyone tried or heard of these? Sounds promising.

If it actually does what it claims, boost shouldn't fall off a cliff at high RPM on the C250. I've been logging boost and it is great to have 18.6psi From 2500-4500rpm, but the boost falls of when the variable valve timing kicks in. You get a power increase from the cam switch, but also lose it from boost dropping off.

I installed the Diverter Valve from Go Fast Bits (GFB DV+ T9358) on my wife’s 2013 C250 last Friday evening and took it for a quick test drive afterwards and noticed that the lag from a dead stop appeared to be reduced almost non-existent. After getting back home I asked my wife to drive it to see if she noticed a difference since, it is her daily driver and I only drive it every few weeks. She would be able to better assess if there was a difference, she liked the improved response. She always had plenty of power once moving but complained about the “turbo lag” after coming to a stop. She was use to the throttle response from her old 6 cylinder G35. No comparison on ride comfort and other amenities between her old and new car C250 more refined, but the G35 definitely had better response from a dead stop. She probably should have gone with the C350, but too late to change, anyway adding the diverter valve did make her say “almost as quick as my old car”.
My only concern is that when she came back from her test drive you could definitely could smell hot metal, I think she took me on my request to drive it and see if the performance was better and she drove it pretty hard. She had a smile on her face when she came back. I asked her to drive it “normal” and we would keep an eye or “nose” to see if under normal driving we could still smell the hot metal. The next day under normal driving we didn’t smell hot metal exhaust. I’m pretty sure any car when driven really hard will produce hot metal/exhaust.
Any feedback (good or bad) on my concern would be greatly appreciated. Don’t want to reduce the life of the engine at the expense of improved or reduced Turbo Lag.

the dv work with turbo to maintain more boost pressure it should not do any damage to the engine for sure
so you donot needed worry but must undertand modern cars are filled with electronics anything is possible
yesterday i get a e90 bmw just deleted the error code and the dme and key got erased so all is possible
but the good part is this dv is plug and play you can remove it and put back stock for warrantly claims if required

My car holds boost better and is more stable, the boost doesn't drop unless I let off the gas. Because my car is running the 5G tranny, it's more of a highway cruiser and with the DV+, it really allows my car to shine at highway speeds. I tend to run out of straight roads more than boost.

Ordered mine last Sunday. Soon as I install it I'll log boost and see how much more it holds after 4500rpm. If it hold just 2psi more, that should be good for 20 peak whp (at least in a perfect world of 10hp per 1psi boost). Upgraded IC is next after this. Anyone ever measure the pressure drop of the stock IC? Sometimes just an IC upgrade with less pressure drop can net 1-3 more PSI boost with no other changes. Now if we could just control that pesky overboost fuel cut...

any tips for getting to the three bolts that hold the DV in place. with all the tubes and angle i am finding it difficult to get a socket wrench in there and be able to turn. I can't seem to figure out how to undo the intercooler pipe that is right in the way either.

I think if you use a ball head type allen key, it will work much better than a standard one. The IC pipe is a clip type release. You probably got it figured by now though. Does anyone know if this valve sounds any different than the stock one? Does it even make a sound? Does the car have a Diverter and BOV. With the intake I can hear more boost release just not sure where it's coming from.

I just used a small ratchet and some patience, you don't need to move anything. The inside bolt you'll need an extension and to feel around with your fingers. Takes about 45 min total.

Just hit 20psi tonight. Will see how it reacts with the fuel cut defender I ordered. Install on water methanol kit is waiting on custom air flow meter spacer to tap into, and intercooler NOS kit will be here by Monday too.

I just installed the diverter, 2 notes on the install #1 remove the charge pipe, makes it a lot easier and gives extra room #2 try not to drop the parts in the area between the inter cooler and radiator (a real ***** of a time to retrieve). So all total install time took no more then 20 minutes

Noticed an increase in response from from dead stop, could be from having car in drive mode, under S and ESP off. When doing a burnouts prior the car would fight to burn, now it's not really fighting so much. From full stop to around 90mph, did not notice too much drop from shifting points, acceleration seemed more fluid.
Car seems a bit faster, as well you can hear the PssSSSST from the boost letting off with the new diverter valve,when shifting or letting off gas a little more.
Cost around $112us +shipping
ebay like $90us +shipping (best offer)

push it towards the turbo (away from you), pull the little thin metal bar towards the opening(close to you)use a flat head screwdriver and pry the side of the little metal bar up, pull on charge pipe a little, once you have popped up one side, then move screwdriver to other side, pry up a little and pull off pipe.. best advise I can give, not much force is needed to remove it
