Newbie needs some help here. Last week my car hit a "hidden" lane divider/curb when I tried to switch to the left-turn lane. It was very dark at night and the divider was not clearly painted.
My driver-side front tire was blown and two plastic covers at the bottom were damaged. There are some scratches on the metal which was previous covered by the plastic.
While I am in the progress of getting the tires replaced I would like to hear from the forum to help assess the damages. Can you help me to identify the parts numbers? Do you think there would be structure damage to the metal that is scratched?
Your help will be very much appreciated.

Hopefully your car still drives straight after this. You might need a realignment as when you hit something that blows your tires something on your suspension will be out of wack. Hopefully there are nothing bent on your suspension components. Better get the car checked by your service center. Have you contacted your insurance?
I am replacing all 4 tires and realignment is in order. Made an appointment with my shop this week and hope there is nothing major other than replacing the 2 plastic covers.
For insurance will this be under collision or comprehensive claim? I haven't made any claim in the last 10+ years and not sure if this will make my premium to go up.
Does anyone know how to find the part numbers? I'd like to know the cost of of the parts.
I just replaced driver side wheel well liner on my fiance's 2010 cause she hit a pole backing up and dented the fender which caused the cover to move and rip. Is hard to tell which piece we are looking at since there are quite a few in the driver side area. Could you take farther out pictures?
I'd say your probably good, but certainly still get the alignment, and wheels checked.
The only reason I say you're probably good is I used to have aftermarket wheels on my W204 only to have the entire wheel face fall off one of the wheels after hitting a pot hole. Yes, you read that correctly. My entire wheel face fell off the car at 40MPH. Really nasty site. Anyway, I had everything checked and my wheel assembly was golden. Slapped my stock wheels back on, and she was back on the road.
Thanks guys. For the tires I was going to replace them anyway as they are stock and are at the 35,000-mile mark. Will definitely get the alignments done. I am attaching some pictures of the wheels. The sidewall of the tire had crack and was leaking right after the impact. I am not sure if the wheels is bent.
I wasn't able to take a good picture from distance due to low clearance. However I called MB dealer and they helped to find the parts. I think it's called Anti-noise Capsule Front (A 204 520 11 23). Now that's an expensive piece of plastic which will set me back for $275 before taxes. Still not sure if the scratches of the metal matter though.
Get those AMG rims checked as well. This will be part of your comprehensive insurance and since it was caused by a road hazard it should not raise your premium. I would call the insurance company first before you get things done. The metal scrape underneath might not be a problem unless the impact bent your frame.
I went to the shop for inspection today and found the real damage was just the shield. I am ordering the parts from the web site xEryx provided.
For the rim I will get it inspected by the tire/alignment shop next week. As my stock tires need to be replaced anyway I am deciding between the following 3 options. I am in the Seattle area so driving in wet and light snow is a must. Any recommendation?
I spent days researching, and decided the michelin pilot sport a/s 3 sounded best for me. Fortunatelt michelin has a policy where you can swap go a new set of tires if you are dissatisfied, and unfortunately those new tires have to be made by them.
The lesson I learned from this is to stick with stock, which in my case was continental contipro extreme contact. They lasted 59k miles, 5 years, snow and rain, and drove nimble yet planted. The a/3 I have are driving like the titantic.
I talked to Costco Tires and Discount Tires. Costco doesn't carry Continental and the guys there suggested I should look for options other than Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 as it's not "all-season" for Seattle's winter time. Discounted Tires was more straightforward. They strongly recommended me to get DSW 06, and they price is almost the same as Tire Rack. I may just get DSW 06 for my C300.
