So I've searched upgrade options for W204 navigation units but could not find the right answer. Hopefully someone can answer them?

My issue: I have the tiny iPhone 5 sized screen with navigation and always wondered why in the heck Mercedes made it like this?

Can I buy the OEM 7" units that pop out when the vehicle is turned on? Will it be plug and play? Cost? Where to buy for a good deal?

Can I buy some type of replica 7" LCD screen and plug + play into my existing dvd unit?

I saw some units from like alibaba or ebay but not sure if I want to go aftermarket. Has anyone even had a perfect/easy install?
