I read about "Mercedes me" services being displayed at CES in Las Vegas this week and wondered/hoped if it was going to be offered as a dongle or something to be retrofitted to my Benz. It turns out it is!

I have not found any information about availability or prices but it seems very interesting.

Pretty cool, would be amazing if it could remote start but not going to happen through OBD2

I guess no remote start.

It seems to be bluetooth only, too bad. If it were 3G enabled you could have monitored the car from anywhere - you could see if you didn't forget to lock your doors from your office- or set it up as a wifi hotspot.

Also is not clear if it has a GPS chip.

My 2013 already has it. I'm always nervous I'll activate the SOS when I go for the overhead lights. Although it does have a covered safety switch.

Would the dongle include the emergency service?
