W204/C204 Rear View Mirror Radar Mount Options?
I've been searching for a couple of days on the forum for what people are doing to mount their radar detectors. Some great options out there, but 95% of them are hardwire write-ups and the radar suction cupped to the window. I live in CA, and we can't do that, BUT we can mount them other ways.
So I'm trying to see what folks are doing for mounting, since I've reached out to a few sources (Blend Mounts and others) to see if they make a mount that'll work for the "top post" mirror that we have in the W204/C204 Mercs. They don't unfortunately, so it boils down to either a custom bracket, or visor clip, or a bean bag on the dash (or maybe a suction cup kit of the dash). Ideally, I would prefer a mirror mount if possible.
Interestingly enough, after I posted this, found this guys video on Youtube:
which looks interesting, and something worth checking out.

After having hardwired detectors for over a decade, I too am done with all things suction cup. This is my current setup.

Looks like we're both in the Bay! How are you mounting these? Permanent 3M sticky mounts? I'd put it on a suction cup up high, but with my luck, I'll get busted.

I looked at that as a solution, and it seems like a good way to go, though I'm not sure how "permanent" it actually is, in other words, could I take it off using GooGone or something later on? And in CA, are we able to permanently adhere these up high legally? I'm not sure if the law refers to suction cup only?
