If you have an iOS device, I recommend OBD Fusion https://www.obdsoftware.net/software/obdfusion
This is what I use to view and reset the check engine lights.

If you have an android device I would recommend Torque. I use the paid app, Torque pro, but I think the free torque lite app would work for you.
Fusion is on android as well, but I haven't used it.

I just used a Innova 3150. Read and erased a thermostat code (P0128). My $50 READ/ERASE OBD II that I've used for years on my Jeep would not link with my C300.

Good thread. I have been wanting to buy a scanner. So far I am looking at the iCar, Bluedriver and and an Innova 3130c. ICar and Innova are around the same price at $225 CAD. I do need a new ipod so I could buy the Bluedriver and new ipod Touch.
Any thoughts on the 3 scanners I mentioned? Is the Innova a good one for MB? My wife drives a 2015 Mini Cooper so I'd like to use on her car too to clear codes ect.

I've been using an OBDLink LX bluetooth OBD module with the torque app on an android phone to read basic OBD codes with no issue at all. I've also been able to clear them with it.
Also nice and useful for some diagnostic purposes with all the OBD data readouts. Before I had my STAR diagnostic system set up, I was able to diagnose a vacuum leak/intake manifold issue with it by logging the fuel trim/manifold vacuum pressure readouts with the same Torque app I prefer it to a simple code reader

I tried to diagnose a 2018 GLC 300 and all I got was a VDB file error. I am pretty puzzled why the support is non existent on with this model.
