Open driver seat
Hey guys,
Today the lumbar mechanism of the driver seat on my 2008 c200 cdi gave up. How to open the cover of the seat to check it out ?

Hang tight let me see what I can find...

Oh... CDI is not available in the U.S.A. so you'll have to settle for the removal instructions for a C300.

...wait a second...does this mean it's possible to swap the front seat bottoms (driver to passenger and vice versa) in the future event we have worn out seat bolsters?

While the procedure to remove both cushions appears to be the same for both sides, think of the cutouts for each seat controls and how they would end up being on the wrong side of each seat.

Here is the procedure to remove/install the seat cushion:




AR91.10-P-3310CW Remove & Install Seat Cushion

-------------------------------------------------------------------------=

Followed by the procedure to remove replace the seat bottom cover:




AR91.18-P-1800CW Remove/Install Front Seat Cushion Upholstery

Wow, thanks so much to IGB for posting this info... My '10 C300 driver seat got socking wet over a year ago and for
the past 2 months this seat has been stinking disgustingly bad. It's to the point that during my 40-mile commute I
open my roof and as soon as I make it to work I MUST head to the gym for shower and change. I noticed ppl at work
started acting funny around me during meetings and so forth... the reason is because I carry the smell on my
body/clothes as I walk away from the car. It's been depressing.
I checked with the dealership and the cost is as follows:
$222.00 - Bottom pad/cushion
$406.00 - Bottom MB-Tex upholstery
$243.00 - Back pad/cushion
$504.00 - Back MB-Tex upholstery
$800.00 - Install/Labor
$2175.00 - Total
Thanks again, I will just buy the parts and install myself. Any good site where to get these parts cheaper ??

hey, i don't know about the site but i got 2 suggestions
1.try treating the seat with some anti bacteria washing solution
2.try leaving the seat in the sun just cover it with a sheet and let it bake
just don't turn on the ignition while the seat is off and don't put it back untill completely dry

To remove the upper seat cushion, I know you have to remove the head rest held in with a clip. Do you know the procedure going forward?

I bough a used cover and cushion. I just need to swap out old.
