X-Pipe Install Question

I'm thinking about installing one to free up the exhaust flow so the Remus can sound like it's fully intended to. I'm obviously gonna go with the MagnaFlow since it's the only option.

Question to all of those with an x-pipe. Did you have to get it welded to the cats or was it bolt on? I don't care about the other end because the pipes have already been cut. My reason for not wanting to weld to the cats is a) because they're expensive as hell and don't want to risk voiding the warranty, and b) more importantly, I want to have the piece of mind that I can always go back to the stock resonator if I don't like the sound.

Thanks for the info in advance.

Welded. if you cut anything on the original pipes of the car then that part already lost it's warranty. as long as you do not touch the catalytic converter and the muffler then you are fine. The xpipe won't brake anything or throw any codes. Worst you can get is a speeding ticket as you will be revving the car more to hear the sound which will attract police attention.

Haha, yeah I can't wait. I'm already doing a little of that since I installed the Remus but I can definitely seeing it get worse with the x-pipe.

So technically speaking, if the shop is able to fabricate custom pipes with a flared end, then they should be able to connect the X-pipes to the cats without welding. Right?

Yes they can but I do not think you will go back to stock after you have the xpipe. Most people who goes and modify the exhaust of the W204 is ending keeping the xpipe with a muffler (stock or aftermarket). That is how good the sound is.

I have no doubt it'll sound awesome based on what you're saying and the reviews others have left, but a) don't want to alter $2500 worth of parts (2 cats) and b) I want to be able to easily go back to stock when I sell.
