"Bluetooth audio device paused" - why???

I have 2013 C300. Sometimes when I start the car, the car will not connect to my iPhone - it starts to try to play a song and then flashes "Bluetooth audio devise paused." I can't seem to un-pause it — what can I do? Can it be done through some buttons on the car? Or only by fiddling with the iPhone? Why does this happen? How can I stop this from happening? Thank you.

This happens with any head unit and any phone (iPhone, android, Windows). It's just part of general Bluetooth suckiness.

If I don't close the Google Music App on my phone, it always finds the phone and starts playing music fine.

If I close the Google Music App on my phone, when I start the car it will switch to bluetooth audio and say display the same device paused message.

Don't close the App.

Not True. My B200 2014 worked fine. This issue didn’t occur. My C200 2013 has a problem when playing audio clips from Facebook, SoundCloud and other websites. It plays a few seconds then thinks the device is paused and stops playing. The phone is still connected so it thinks it keeps playing through Bluetooth but I can’t hear anything. I’m forced to turn the MB audio console off if I want to hear the phone.

Reconnecting does nothing. And i’m using the same phone.

It’s not Bluetooth, it’s the Merc tech in this model that’s the issue. Real pain
