Dead radio / amplifier in my 2008 C300
My radio died a few months ago and I noticed that the "Logic 7" option disappeared from the sound menu. So I figured it was the factory installed Harman Kardon that had died. So I got a used one and installed it and still got no sound. I thought these are "plug and play". Or does the dealer need to reprogram something in the command to get it to recognize the replacement amp?
I got into the Secret Engineering menu and I saw the following codes:
DTCd017 Ring Break Pos. 0
DTCd018 Ring Break Pos. 1
DTCa27b Wrong MOST-ring
DTC9463 Ch1 Loudspeaker open
DTC9468 Ch2 Loudspeaker open
DTC946d Ch3 Loudspeaker open
DTC9472 Ch4 Loudspeaker open
Also on the MOST current configuration screen I see:
Pos. :Uni-ID
00:HU/TGW 01:SOUND 02:SDARS
03: thru 07: they say NOT USED then 08: thru 15: are blank.
Since the sound wasn't working with the "new" Amp. I put the old one back in. I still got the same error codes. But on the MOST current config the 01:SOUND changed to 01:SDARS and 02: now reads 02:not used.
So it looks like I was right in thinking my amp IS dead.
Photo of the MOST config with the new Amp installed. Didn't take one with the old amp installed
My question is to you all how do I get the replacement amp to work?
And do I actually have a broken fiber cable? (errors: DTCd017 Ring Break Pos. 0 / DTCd018 Ring Break Pos.) If so, where are ring position 0 and 1 located?
Also, should I be concerned about the "Ch# Loudspeaker open" errors? Or are these just a symptom of the dead Amp?
I've been trying to find info on all this online and haven't been able too.
Appreciate any info you guys may have. Dealer said it could be $147 to $300 just to diagnose this and then the repair would be additional!
Thanks in advance!

I have a similar question. I have a "DTCd018 Ring Break Pos. 1" error.
Under Rated MOST screen it shows:
0: HU/TGW
1: SOUND
2: SDARS
3: UCI
Under Current Configuartion MOST screen it shows:
0: HU/TGW
and the rest "not used"
I have a 2012 C300. WHat is the SOUND module? SDARS is digital radio? UCI is for external media connections? Are all of these modules behind the dash? I put in a new amplifier and still no sound. I can select FM/AM/CD/Bluetooth/Nav and still no sound.
Any tips on how to troubleshoot?
Thanks,
Matt

Be curious what you find.
I have "Logic 7" option disappeared from the sound menu in the menu but grayed out so I can't select it.
Radio still works on mine, but now I really want that darn logic 7, whatever she is.
