Engine light with P0017 code

Engine light is on and code reads:

"P0017 Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1 Sensor B"

Engine makes exactly this noise when starting:

Youtube comments suggest Exhaust Camshaft Activators? Any ideas?

Do you still have this issue? Just got this code on my vehicle as well accompanied with misfire.

No resolved this a long time ago and has not had any issues since. Problem was the camshaft sprocket had to be replaced, apparently quite common with this model.

Doesn't look good for me then I suppose since those are quite pricey from what I've heard.

I called Merc and it was something like 300AUD for just a diagnose and 1800 for just the part without labour. I went to a independent Merc specialist and left it with them for a couple of weeks.. All up cost me 2500 for new sprocket, new timing chain, roadworthy certificate and labour.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I do get the error code but I don't have such a loud startup, however, get that error code usually after having driven a bit usually in stop and go traffic.
Did you go with OEM parts? All I seem to be able to find online are aftermarket solutions.
