Wired whining noise from center of the dashboard, any ideas?

Wired whining noise from center of the dashboard, any ideas?
2010 C350 4Matic. 126000 KM currently.
Recently noticed whining noise coming from the center of the dashboard, can't be sure where, but it must be close to the center air fan area(below the screen somewhere)
The wired thing is it only happens when I get in the car, I mean, I didn't even start the car or turn on the power. The sound is like sort of rotating noise. Open the car and close, mostly of time it will reproduce the noise.
However, start driving the car, the noise will just be gone. And it will come back after a while when I get in the car again.
My local mechanic said it's nothing to worry about, he said it's the fan noise from heater?(I am not sure) and it's acting like that even the car has not turned on/powered on.
Anyway, none of this make any sense to me, I hope any one of you amazing guys can shed some light for me? any easy fix? I simply just want the noise gone....
