Does anyone know if Pentosin Synthetic 5W40 meets MB spec 229.5?

Thanks for the list Carsy. I checked at the parts store and it does in fact meet 229.51. Not the cheapest oil in town however. Walmart had Mobil One European Car Formula for $22.00 for a 5 quart jug. The Pentosin at Autozone in comparison was $42.00 for 5 liters. It pays to shop.

229.50 for petrol engines.

Best buy the right one as they have different properties.

229.5 oil is much easier to find than 229.51 oil and half the cost of 229.51 oil. Use the recommended oil and save money and wear and tear on the engine.
