Looking at 2008 w/120k mi, things to look for?

Hey guys, new member here... as the title says, I am thinking of buying a 2008, it has just over 120k miles on it. It's C300, 4MATIC. white/gray. I drove it yesterday for a little bit and it seems to drive very decent. A couple of dashboard warnings of tire pressure and check lamps. It needs 4 tires, so not worried about that one, and I'm proficient at changing bulbs, etc.
I searched the forums with some keywords I thought might pop up some results, but I only found a few... namely the 4MATIC tranny has problems? What else should I be looking for in an 8yo car w/this kind of miles? It's got a decent price, and the body is very straight, and so far as I can tell, no accidents. It'll basically be a kid hauler back & forth to school, getting hopefully better mileage than a full size V8 SUV, lol.

Any help is absolutely appreciated and thank you! Rick

Does it have a service history?

The 130k service is around $400-500.

EIS replaced? Thermostat? Blower? Fluids? Ball joints?

My 08 C300 is at 125k miles and just had a $3500 repair bill plus 130k service.

I do my own regular synthetic oil changes at 5000 miles.

I don't think I would purchase this car again, especially the 08, which seems to attract all the problems.

These cars are getting cheap and everyone wants to own a Mercedes. Just giving you a heads up, be prepared for repairs.

I just bought an 08 and I've noticed that the electrical isn't the best, i.e. I replaced a bulb and the system is showing it's still out. Then a day later another bulb on the other side went out.

I did an oil change and noticed both sway bar end links were blown, so I am going to replace those. Have you looked at the Carfax for the vehicle? My car's previous owner had all the scheduled maintenance done so I knew I was covered there.

Has any of the suspension been replaced?

You need evidence of proper maintenance at suggested intervals. For example, make sure the transmission fluid was changed every 40k miles and oil changed regularly. If there is no paper trail walk away. There any plenty of other ones out there.
