Adding paddle shifters to facelift w204?

I happen to have a like new condition sport steering wheel, black leather with red stitching, and shifter paddles. If interested, make a reasonable offer. This would not include air bag. I will post pics of it when I get back in a few days

Glad I found this thread .... I put an E350 wood and leather wheel in my car when I bought it, and that wheel had shifter paddles. As it turned out, the little electrical module inside the wheel was not compatible, so I had to move the module from my wheel to the new wheel and in so doing, found there were connectors for the paddle wires. Once I had the C350 module in the new wheel and the paddles connected to it, they worked!
However, re-reading this thread leaves me a little confused about what the function of the paddles actually is ... what I thought was, clicking the paddle gives you one shift up or down and then the transmission resumes normal automatic operation. Like if you wanted a sudden burst of acceleration to pass another car. But I see mention above of "true manual operation" which sounds like the only way to change gears would be to use the paddles each time? Or "gear limiter" which suggests once you upshift or downshift using a paddle, the car stays in that gear forever and doesn't shift again on its own? Can someone clarify?

What should I look out for to make sure this is compatible?
Hi, I have a 2012 (62 plate) c class w204 c200 cdi . My wheel looks like:
It currently doesn't have paddle shifters. I want to upgrade it to a wheel like this:
With paddle shifters. How can I check if my vehicle would support this? Or is it just a matter of swapping the electronics from my current wheel to the new wheel? Thanks
