Noise in Shifting Gear on Slope
I have mercedes c220, 2010, w204 automatic. i always get it serviced from MB service stations. It is around 58000 km down. On my recent trip to mountains, i felt a noise during a gear shifting from Parking (P) to Reverse (R) and When i was on hill and moving upward then my gear stuck on R and it got released only when i first reversed the car then it allowed me to shift it to D. once i came back to my city then i got my car serviced and during the service they changed the transmission oil and as per them my car is perfect but after that i have noticed the same noise when i parked my car onto the slope which means that "whenever my car is on the slope and i stopped the car and put into P then after that when i tried to release brake and shift the gear to R or D then gear got hard to shift and create noise".
So please help me out on this issue so that i can rid of this noise or may be it can harm my car in future by the way i forgot to tell that my car is running perfectly good on plain roads only on the slope i have noticed these kind of noise and hardness in shifting gear

I think it is common to all. Mine does it if I park on a slope & do not have the park (hand) brake holding the car.
The gear box pawl (pin) is not designed to hold the car on a slope. The park brake should do this.
When parking on a slope it is best to let the handbrake take the weight of the car then put the gearbox in Park.
Take a look at this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parking_pawl

Spot on! On a steep slope, the devil is in the details...my parking brake allows more roll back than most I am accustomed to when on a slope so I keep the clutch in until she settles onto the brake.

I wind up not using mine because the car does not issue a warning when you drive in reverse with the parking brake on. My last car would yell at you right away for doing that. I suppose I should still make it a habit.
I do kind of like the automatic, electronic parking brake in the new models.
