c250 dual exhaust

anyone here converted their single to dual exhaust? more like a c300 but not a c63 look. I know it's possible to take it to a muffler shop and have them do a y-pipe. and will a c300 diffuser fit a c250?

Yes it can be done, and yes a C300 diffuser will fit a C250. However, since the C250 only has one exhaust pipe right now, I'm assuming the other side of the car underbody is not just empty space, and will likely have other things mounted there. The exhaust shop will probably have to make some space to run the pipe, but correct me if I'm wrong. It shouldn't be too hard as I've seen it done.

Keep in mind, the second pipe will be 'fake', even if it's plumbed into the exhaust. A friend did this to an Alfa Spider years ago, and while it looked pretty good sitting, it was kind of odd while running, because 90% of the exhaust came out of the original pipe (very noticeable when cold because of steam). The second (with no muffler on it) also rusted out and had to be replaced, as it didn't get hot enough. My buddy took to blocking the OE outlet while warming the car up, forcing the exhaust through the added pipe. That helped it last much longer. More than I'd do for a cosmetic mod, but there you go. At least now stainless is common for exhaust, so it should last quite a while, no matter what.
Oh, and with the Alfa, the added pipe didn't affect the sound- or at least, not so anyone could notice.

thanks guys! but why would the second one be "fake"? if you put a Ypipe then it should go to both. I'm planning to take out the muffler and resonator too. I've seen a few video on YouTube and it is possible.

The exhaust flow from the second pipe will depend on the Y that splits the exhaust; where it's located, how it's split, etc. The farther back on the car and the more abrupt the split-off (think T instead of Y), the less exhaust you'll have going through the added pipe.
The modifications you're planning won't have much effect on performance, although the car may get slightly more sluggish off the line, but will certainly look like a 300 or 350 from the back. You're on your own as far as sound. Myself, I don't like loud four cylinders, especially with automatics, but you may love it. Everyone's different that way.
In the end, it's your car- do what you want with it and enjoy!
