My car did not have that option the C63 wheel I bough had that. I literally took apart its internals and the took apart mine and swapped them. The feature should still be there if you swap everything.

Fitted mine today
Fitted a 3 spoke amg-line red stitching wheel into my 2012 c200 SE today which originally had a 4-spoke wheel with no paddle shifters. I needed to swap the airbag alongside the wheel as the 4 spoke wheel has a different size airbag. Everything went smoothly and worked perfectly with the swap. Swapped over the contact plate and everything was just plug and play. The shifters work with my vehicle's gear limiter.

I know this is an old thread but i just wanted to tell you that i spoke to a Mercedes mechanic that had a Mercedes without paddle shifters and wanted paddle shifters and a newer 3 spoke steering wheel on his Mercedes.
What he did to his 2007 model Mercedes was to buy a newer 3 spoke steering wheel paddle shifters since he did not like the original steering wheel in his car.
He just replaced the old steering wheel with the new 3 spoke steering wheel and also took the original small circuit board to his car and moved the small circuit board over with the new 3 spoke paddle shifter steering wheel and everything was working well.
His car must have been pre wired for paddle shifters. Note that this is an european spec Mercedes if that matters.
I do not remember if the small original circuit board he moved over from the old original steering wheel to the new 3 spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters was placed behind the airbag or behind the steering wheel itself.

mine was plug and play nothing else needed. just make sure you change your current steering wheel internals into the new wheel. I've read that you have to do that or the lights in the wheel won't work. I didn't want to risk doing it so I took mine apart the total job took about 30 Minutes. to get the wheel off, take it a part, put the new one together, and on.

im currently doing an upgrade to my 08’ w204 C350. I bought a 2013 C300 sport flat bottom steering wheel with paddles, took old airbag off and seen where to take green chip out. However it doesn’t seem that it will fit in the new wheel, will it or do I have to do extra cutout/wiring to make it fit?
