Mercedes CPO Warranty on Code P0128
So I have a 2012 C300 with the Star Certified Warranty and not long ago I got the P0128 CEL and found out that I have a faulty Thermostat.
Brought it in to a MB dealership and they said that my Star CPO warranty does not cover the thermostat, and the Star warranty only covers the drivetrain.
What? After doing research it clearly states that the Star CPO warranty covers your drivetrain and all major components. And it clearly states on the CPO Brochure that the Cooling System is a major component, and the first thing listen inside the cooling system is the Thermostat.
So what am I not understanding.
Should the part be covered under warranty?
WTF
Edit: Just reread your original post and I missed that you also got a warranty brochure. Just to be clear the cooling system is probably listed under the factory/extended warranty section of the Star Certified Warranty. If you didn't pay for the extended warranty and the factory warranty is expired it's likely the cooling system is not covered.

So the Standard Star CPO warranty will cover your drive train and all major components. But here is the catch.
The warranty will only cover certain parts inside those "major components", so in my case the Cooling system is covered, and 4 parts inside that cooling system are covered. But unfortunately the Thermostat is not covered.
To get all parts covered you need the Limited warranty
(extended warranty).
Either way the dealership gave me 50% off so I was happy, since I couldn't complain too much.
