3M is great, it will hold, but you have to do a good prep work:
1- Clean the area with soapy water, remove all dirt, dust and sap. (Car and Spoiler).
2- Thoroughly clean the area with isopropyl alcohol. (Essential do not skip, Car and Spoiler).
3- Use painters tape to tape off the arie to line it up just right Spray some adhesion promoter (Optional but recommended, you can find it next to the 3M tape at you local auto shop!, Car and Spoiler).
4- Apply the 3M tape to the spoiler (Do not press super hard).
5- Remove the first 3-4 inches of protective backing from each ends of the 3M tape, tape the backing on top of the spoiler.
6- Line up the spoiler without touching the trunk, then install it.
7- Pull the protective backing from under the spoiler.
8- Press hard (HARDER), all across the length of the spoiler.
9- Let it rest for few hours.
options are mixed the dealership just uses 3M tape and lets it cure for a while and they tape it down to make it stick well. So if you DIY do it at night then just tape like 1 inch all the way around the spoiler to hold it down a little firmer over night and you should be good to go.
