overhead controls loosing power

overhead controls loosing power
I just changed the battery in my 2009 C300 4matic. Now when I open the door the interior lights come on then go off and come on and go off. This is also true for the illuminated controls on the overhead controls. This is also the case for the compass in the rear view mirror.
I think that it might be a bad relay but not sure and also not sure where this
relay would be found. One other thing is that while taking the positive lead off the old battery my ratchet hit the chasie and cased an arch. Not sure if this would have "blown" anything. Everything else in the car works great. Thoughts????
