Newbie command question

Why does the command button turn? ( No this is not the start of a joke). I can't seem to find a function that turning the knob does anything.

Not sure what you mean...the command knob is used to scroll thru the menus, tune the radio

The one on the HU or the one on the center console?

It could be yours is broken. The knob only lasts about 4 year. Without it you can't do too much.

The knob on the center console, I have the nav and Harmon Kardon system if that makes a difference. I can push it side to side and down to use all the functions, but if I turn it it does nothing.

It sounds like it is broken. Start here, https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...b-problem.html.

It's around $500 to get fixed by the dealer but there are several DIY options. You can get one on ebay, order a custom made replacement shaft, 3D print a shaft or use super glue.

Well no wonder it doesn't work. Thank you for the info!
