2016 C300 RWD
New Member looking at a lease

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and am looking at getting a 2016 C300 RWD. I was hoping someone could help me evaluate the lease terms.

MSRP is $50,200
Agreed Upon Value is $45,382.10
Gross Cap Cost is $46,377.10
Fees and Taxes $3,083.40
I paid $700 down
36 mo lease
Payment is $598.94

I'm new to leases, so I'm trying to see if this is a fair deal or not.

Thanks to all replies!

Mercedes offer a 4 year/50,000 mile warranty. Your lease is for a brand new 2016 c300. You will be covered under warranty for the duration of your lease. However, to get the exact same amount of benefits of warranty as the new 2016 for the next 3 years, you need to purchase a 2015 model or newer. I am assuming that the amount of previous owners is not a concern to you as it is a lease. Over the next 3 years, you will be spending a total of $22,261.84 and will end up with no car.

Just doing a quick search, I was able to find 3 2015 C300's with less than 15K miles on them for less than $30,500. 1 of which is less than $28,500. Assuming that you pick the most expensive one, which would be this 2015 4matic c300, 10K miles, fully equipped with black on black for $30,499, you would be looking a $847.19/monthly. But by the end of the 3 years, this car is fully yours with the exact same benefits as the 2016 c300 that you just gave back to the dealership.

Also, keep in mind that your mileage is limited for a lease, unless you plan on paying extra per set miles.

My point is, at the end of this 3 years, you can now trade in or sell your 2015 c300 for, lets just say that your car took a ridiculous amount of depreciation of 15%/year and is now worth $22,036.25. The initial $30,499-$22,036.25 is still only $8,462.75 spent on the 3 years of ownership vs. $22,261.84 of leasing.

Even if you purchased a bad used car, Mercedes will still loan you a 2015/2016 c300 (E class if you are lucky enough) free of charge until the problem is fixed. Everything need fixing would still be free because it would be covered under warranty.

Myn has solid advice. You are better off buying a little older car than leasing a new one. You have no equity at the end of the lease and I can't tell you how many people end up buying the car at the end of it. My advice is follow his advise. You may get a nicer older model (E for example) for the same money as a lease on a new c class. Oh and this forum is for the previous gen c class not the new one. I think the 204 sedan is better looking than the 205 but the new 205 coupe is tastier than then 204 but I don't like small turbo 4's

Leasing is good if it's a business and can write it off as an expense. Lots of bs tax crap behind why but it is. But yes, myn has great advice, although your payment may not be able to be where you want it to be. If it's possible to put more down, you could lower the payment, also, if you extend the term by a year or two you could drastically reduce the payment, and right now, at least in Canada, MB is offering a 0.9% interest rate. Good time to finance.
