Loss of coolant!!
I am a newbie here and fairly new to the MB World..
I bought my wife a C250 TDi Sport AMG at the beginning of the month and was fantastic until last week when the coolant level warning came up on the display.. I topped it up and it went out and so I thought all was fine until about 2 days later it popped up again. So, I then topped it back up and all fine until yesterday when again the light came on.. I Googled the problem and read a thread that pointed me to 3 problem areas. 1, Water Pump, 2, Fuel Filter Housing Gasket, and 3, EGR Gasket.. The first place I was able to view was the area of the Fuel Filter Housing and can definitely see signs of coolant in the area..
Could anyone here tell me if this is an easy fix for me and where could I source the Gasket in the UK?? Could it be the Housing itself cracked?? Is there any workshop manual I can get hold of anywhere?
Any Information available would be greatly received.
Thank-you in advance
Chris

BUT with your VIN I can get you the removal/installation procedures for whatever you need.
It's tough to tell what it is without more information. I do believe this should be something you can do yourself.
Gaskets and the like are fairly cheap from the dealer, I can get you part numbers for whatever you need, once again, I would need your VIN to ensure correct part numbers.
If not, you can try ecstuning.com and other similar sites.
Hope that helps a little!
Also, welcome to the forums! We are happy to have you!!
I think you should try to find the exact spot where the coolant is leaking so you can order the correct part.
A clean rag, good torch , perhaps a mirror on a stick & a flexible neck helps. Hope you do not need to remove other equipment to get a good view.
You may have to run the engine after cleaning.
Good luck.
Some good advise there, thanks. I am quite certain that it is the Fuel Filter Housing so am going to go for that..
My VIN/chassis number is WDD2040032A440707
I would appreciate any information on part numbers, along with any diagrams etc that will help me carry out the job, around the area of the Fuel Filter Housing.
Thanks for your support
Chris
I am learning as I go here... But, read that a known issue with loss of coolant is the Fuel Filter Housing Gasket... I am assuming the Housing is the part that the Fuel Filter is attached/sits in too. I am guessing has coolant runs through it..
When I looked around the area below the fuel filter there is definitely signs of coolant which is why I am looking at replacing the gasket..
Hope this makes sense

There are four O'Rings in that assembly.
Part Numbers & quantities:
A 018 997 95 45 x 1
A 018 997 93 45 x 1
A 018 997 94 45 x 2
Hopefully this helps.
Not sure I see the gasket you are talking about.

Did you say that you could get me the removal/installation procedure for the Housing??
From the knowledge I have gained in the last few days, I believe that the Fuel Filter is clamped to a housing (just to secure it). This housing is what I am calling the Fuel Filter Housing.. There is a definite sign of coolant seepage around this area..
Thanks

If you have a picture, that would be great because I don't know what housing youre talking about. We have different engines.
Cheers
Chris

I am terribly sorry for all my delays... I have been super busy this past week.
Any way you could post the part numbers for others who may have the same issue? Maybe a brief description of what you did to fix it??
