Yes, that is the case for all w204 C classes. Even the C63. The image quality is a bit poor too and the camera is offset to the side.
But after a while you get used to it and can maneuver rather well with it.
There is nothing that can be done about it either. There may be some systems that can put the lines in but they won't be dynamic.
If I had to guess I would say it is because of the off center mounting of the camera. I think they left it off because of that. Even the Comand HU does have access to the wheel angle data.
The fish eye view does let you get rather close to objects with some precision when you back up.
