Trade in value

anyone try to trade in there Mercedes and end up being shockingly surprised at what was offered?

i went in today to look at a fully loaded Ram 1500, I was expecting a low ball offer of $17,000. They offered me $23,500. With giving me the option of taking out the AMG steering wheel and the sub/amp (maybe even the rims still under discussion)

any thoughts? I feel bad to let the baby go but if they drop the price of the truck I might not be in a MB to much longer.

the only reason Im selling is I need a truck for work now.

That sounds extremely high/good I wouldn't expect more than 18k for a '12

Are they over-allowing on the trade and hiding the number in the price of the truck? Common dealer practice.

The local MB dealer here in SE Mass. offered me only $14k for my 2012 with 47k miles. She's in wonderful shape with all service records since day one, including a lot of services performed long before they're due.

The Honda dealer in town was willing to give me @$3,500.00 more but who wants a Honda...?

Yea that sounds reasonable if you compare to the below US values.

You are getting 23k Canadian I am assuming.

14.7k USd is 19k Cad
18k USD is 23K Cad

You also haven't told us how many KMs you have, cause you could be having as little as 40km, or as high as 150K km.

Details man, Details.

hey so i have 83000KM to date (full maintenance records and no accidents) and no the truck will only cost me 12k extra, friends and family deal hahaha(even though we have no relation) theres no hidden bs its a 2015 Ram crew cab 20,000KM so its a pretty amazing deal those trucks usually go for 40K+.

its still not bad BUT id rather sell privately or at least try to at first maybe ill get some one to pay $26,000. with all the extras i have on the car i'd feel bad removing it all and selling things separately.
