ME97 is the one you want to use. M272 engine uses the ME9.7 ECU variant. Not sure what uses the MED97 one yet, I figured possibly Motor Electronics Diesel? Maybe on the OM642 engine

Thanx for the quick response Funkwagen .... Keep getting a code for coolant temperature ... Think it's due to putting a coolant additive in to help my Merc too run cooler in the summer days

If that's the case, you're honestly probably best off to completely drain the cooling system and refill with pure MB approved coolant. ECU handles the thermostat/ temp regulation really well on it's own - low to mid 90C is optimal for these engines. Hopefully the additive didn't mess with the coolant temperature sensor or anything else
