AUX Cable from Glovebox to HeadUnit
Hi All,
I have an early 2008 W204 C200, I am currently connecting a tablet place on the original headunit and connecting an AUX Cable coming from the Glovebox to it.
I was wondering if there was a cleaner way to have the aux cable go from within the glovebox to near the headunit. Currently the aux cable is hanging out of the glovebox and going over to the tablet.
I have attached an image to point out what exactly I want.
Thanks for any replies

Get the ipod kit and you can hook an ipod or cel phone up but it stays in the glove box.
You will be able to see info on your main dash gauge with the kit so you won't have to have your device out of the glove box.
The stock 1/8" aux input sounds terrible anyway. I have the same basic Audio20 head unit as you and I want the ipod kit.

@Colin G: there is no problem with the quality of the Aux input, there is a post to your question on this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...nd-comand.html
As for Bluetooth, its bandwidth is still half of an original AIWW digital recording, so even playing 320 kbps MP3's through Bluetooth is about the same as a 128kbps MP3, and provides far inferior sound vs. using the Aux connector. The highest quality sound identical to an original CD may be obtained with a 6th Generation iPod and Apple Lossless tunes.
@lash00 - to remove the air ducts and the 5.5 inch screen so that you can drill a hole in the plastic side and reroute the Aux cable, here is a video. You only need to see the first 45 seconds to understand the duct and the screen removal. Best of success!

Another option is to get a Bluetooth adapter for the auxiliary port so you can shut the glovebox and then connect the tablet via cordless. I do not know about quality though. Probably depends on the Bluetooth unit.

From my experience in installing a rear view camera, you could do this way:
- get a aux cable long enough
- get the aux cable connected inside glovebox and make it outside glovebox next to the aux connector
- get it below the glovebox (remove the plastic that gives access to cabin filter)
- remove the unit (NTG4 or AUDIO20) as shown in the video post above
- you can pass the aux cable from below glovebox to the front of the unit with little damage to the plastic.
Its easy! Good luck!
Another idea: why not get the cable from glovebox to the middle console (between seats)??
