i recently encountered a DIY gone wrong!
I was setting up to do a simple oil change on my 2012 c250 when everything came crashing down..literally haha.
i was jacking the car up from the front jacking point in order to place the car on jack stands. suddenly the plastic that sits on the crossmember snaps and causes my jack to slip and smash through the under covers...sadly my radiator and fan assembly were crushed completely.
now, I am seeking for a replacement radiator and fan if anyone has anything lying around and wants to sell. I know it's a long shot but the stealership is charging an arm and leg for both parts.
i am located in Los Angeles 626 area. please pm me with any leads or help.
Did you use that special jack insert? It appears that most newer cars these day have one. Good luck on the search, however; you may want to search some bone yards.
Here it is, front and center of the car. About a foot behind the bumper on the cross member.
Lift here, then put jack stands on the side support points. (Just make sure your jack can't slide off of the jack point. )
