driver side, lower seat cushion tear, question!

Hey everyone,

I have the infamous Driver side Lower cushion tear along the seam. Stealership quoted me just over $500 for the replacement seat cover. I'm just curious if anyone knows if the left and right side lower seat covers would be the same. Judging by pictures it looks like they follow the same outer contours, but can anyone confirm?

Only reason i ask is it seems like there is an abundance of second hand lower covers for the passenger side available. Unless someone knows where i can get one for a reasonable price. Mine is currently just standard Black mb-tex

I have a small tear also but it goes vertically about 1 " along the driver's side bolster.

That MB tex is total crap. Sure wish my car had leather instead of pleather.

So is it $500 for the whole seat cover or just the bottom? That seems kind of steep.

unfortunately, that quote was just for the lower seat skin itself.

$500 CAD to clarify things too!

I had an independent installer do mine. He got the replacement at a much lower price. Overall half the dealer cost including installation.

I was able to confirm at the dealer this past weekend, that the part numbers for Both the Left and Right hand side lower seat cushions are the same, so for those looking at second hand options/replacements keep in mind that you can purchase either!

I also confirmed the price and it is $507 CAD, the parts guy even offered me 15% off but i've since been able to find a good condition seat to pick up to do a lower cover swap.
