Overhead Control Panel extra button plastic cover fell off

Someone pushed the extra button's plastic cover inside (marked as #2 in the picture), so I had to take it out completely. Now, I don't know how to install it back into place. The plastic is quite firm to force it back into place and I don't want to use extra force so it won't break. Please help on how to install it and if I need to disassemble the whole panel so I can snap it from the inside. I know it is not that important but it looks very ugly.

Appreciate your help.

Factory ordered 2012 MB C350 w/Dynamic Handling Package
Removing the entire panel is quite easy. Take a credit card and slip it in the crack in between the perforated grill and the headliner. This releases the entire unit and you can then look inside from the top.

^^^ Yes, just like above but I did not use a CC or bank card. Mine instantly popped out as soon as I jammed a plastic trim remover in there. I thought no way the trim remover would fit and then the light assembly just popped off instantly with no effort.

Thanks.. I removed the panel but it was all covered in plastic so actually you can't reach for the opening from the inside. Anyways, I tried to force this piece of s*** back in place and now the clasps on it got broken. So what are my options?

1) Do they sell this plastic button cover anywhere?

2) Use super glue that would fix it in place?

3) Change the whole panel? Plz no!

4) Break the other one, so it would be symmetrical for the eyes..

Check with local dealer or parts.com. Might be able to get individual part or might need to replace panel.

Have the same problem, did anyone actually find the solution without the replacement of the whole ocp?
