Coilover options for C250
Good evening,
Looking at stiffening up the suspension on my C250. I like a tight, no-boat sway suspension. My 04.5 GLI takes corners like a champ and the 250 kind of heaves it's way around corners. Wondering what some individual experiences are out there regarding coils and dampening adjustments. These cars can't be all about riding on pillows...

I just like a stiffer ride. Not a fan of the feel of springs after my last car. I want to end up wth an aggressive stance (lowered to the fender) but be stiff enough for corners.

I'm looking for coils as well, there's quite a few options if you got RWD. KSport, BC Racing, Megan racing, D2 Racing, H&R, KW all make coils for the W204, and probably more that I don't remember. I was talking to a sales rep at a local shop looking for coils yesterday and he told me he's not supposed to say anything, but BC, KSport, Megan & D2 coils are all manufactured in the same factory in China and are essentially the same only different colors. Not sure how true that is but that's what he said. In any case I doubt there is much difference in build quality in the $800-$1200 range, a little more you get the H&R coils but they don't go as low as others from what I've seen. Also the H&R SS is quite good for springs, I have them right now. I too had a bad experience in my 05 honda civic where I put springs on and the ride was horrible, felt like a I was riding a moving seesaw on the highway. I've ran coils ever since then but people spoke pretty highly of the Super Sport. So the springs really surprised me on the w204, we've got much higher quality stock suspension and It really still feels like a Benz. Don't think they may be low enough for what you're looking for but just thought I'd throw that in there.

The car already sits pretty low, with 19s I'd expect it to drop another inch and a half to be top of tire and the H&R Street Perfs for 1200 go 2.0". Anyone running the H&R SP?

Why not bilstein b16? Height and damping adjustable.
I had on my c280 and it was pretty awesome. They replaced some bc coilover which are crap. I would not suggest bc. The ride is bouncy and shocks blew in a few months.

BC's are one of the only coils warranteed for a year, and after that you can get replacement struts for around $99.00. Alot of people crank the stiffness up which makes them ride horrible. I had mine 8 up from the softest out of 30 and they rode great. Each car and person here will have their own preferences though. I have lowered a lot of cars and used just about every suspension on the market, but most of those were not C-class Mercedes. My .02

I got a great deal on bilstein for 1400 instaled at my local store.
Honestly just didnt like the bc, the dampers are not compatible with the springs rates they offer on the C class. Not to mention, one of the rear shocks blew. I dont even have my car that low!
the hr coilover are good option but heard they would clunk at certain times.

I want the car to be stiff but not jarring. Looks like the options are BC, Bilstein or H&R...
1400 installed is a great deal, where are you located? I'm in SoCal and I can't find a shop that will email me back.

What r u trying to achive?
sometimes a bifier sways bar can do more on streets.
I honestly would not consider bc, they are jarring compare to bilstein. There is really no comparison.
I currently hv the a c63 . The car comes with beffier sway bar but overall spring are still softer than billstein. But it handleds pretty good with minimal roll.

I want no roll, if any super minimal. Sway bars then? I'm new to RWD, the car feels squirrelly to me as it is, I don't want too much over steer. Would I be better off with springs and a sway bar if that gives me a decent ride and less roll?

There's a few shops in SoCal that can probably help you out. There's 168 Motoring in Torrance, Fender Defender/Deity Motorsports in Irwindale. Boden AutoHaus in Costa Mesa. European Auto Source is in Anaheim & BenzWorks in Huntington Beach. Closest one to me is Need 4 Speed Motorsports in Glendale,CA.
