C300 engine

Hey,

I have a quick question. I am considering to buy 2012 c300, one of the cars I saw the seller told me that the engine was swapped with the same year engine model but once was on 2012 s300 is there difference between c300 engine and the s300 engine ? The car seem to work just fine.

Reason of changing the old engine is because the seller didn't Pay attention for the oil limit so the engine malfunctioned after it was dried out of oil. (Stupid person).

I know it's a risk considering to buy this car. But it is a very good deal and it is the most optioned car between the others.

thanks in advance.

As far as I know there wasn't an S300. If you look on all the different forums on here there is none that shows an S300. Either you heard wrong or the person is scamming you. Are you possibly outside the United States? That is the only way I could even conceive of there being an S300 in some other market.

What is so special about the options on that particular car? There are a ton of C300s out there and if you are a bit patient you will probably find exactly what you want. I would be too scared to buy that car. If they beat up a relatively new car like that enough to blow the engine, I would imagine the transmission can't be far behind, or the transfer case it it is a 4matic, or the.................

Would not buy the car. Agree, there are tons of used C300s on the market. Mercedes has not sold a 6 cylinder s class in the states in years other than briefly selling diesel s350 bluetec. If you are overseas may be a different story. The 3.5 l V6 was available in the S class.

[I'm not from the states, I am from Jordan (Middle East). And here we have a very high customs on cars and not alot of variety. Example: It is very rare to find a c350 or c300 here, mercedes agency offers c180 c200 and c250 models same for the s class s300 s350 and s400hybrid . Because like I said customs is very high on big engine cars it's like 150% of the car price.

What at should I do please advise.]

As I said earlier, would not buy a car with an engine from another car. Live in the US, but my wife has family in the EU, I have driven smaller engine Benzes which drive great.
