Oil

Hello,

2013 c300 4matic sport
I believe M276 is the engine name

Couldn't find a lot of information on this type of engine, want to do an oil change.

Question is how much oil should be added after sucking the old oil out?
Where does oil filter located on this engine?
and should I use mobil one aftermarket filter or buy Mercedes one?

5w-40
Or
0w-40

I like to use 0w-40 because it is thinner which yields lower oil temperature. AMGs use it also.

8.5-9 quarts. Depending upon drainage. Mobil 1 oil only in my opinion.

It is a European engine. Why not use a European oil from the list you will find in the search tab.

You can purchase the Mobil One 0W40 oil at Walmart for less than any other auto store. I purchase two 5 quart jugs as my 4matic takes 7.5 quarts so the next oil change I only need to buy one jug. As for the oil filter I buy them online from ECS Tuning they cost $15 each or $55 for five and they are a Mercedes filter and come with all the rubber seals that are needed. ECS also sales a wrench to get the filter housing off so you don't damage it, very helpful.

Mercedes Uses Mobil one oil. My GLC has a Mobil one sticker on it from the factory.

+1 on buying the Euro-spec Mobil 1 0w-40 from Walmart.

About to do first oil change soon.

Bought the 6 packs on amazon cause it was only a dollar more than the 5qt (same price as walmart). I bought 2 packs so it will eventually balance out.

+Mann filter

The link below will take you to a YouTube clip on how to change oil on your C300. It clearly shows where the filter is and how to remove it. However it is easier and just as effective to use a MityVac or similar apparatus rather than drain oil from below.

Sorry about that. Try this link (if MB World allows reference to other forums) It speaks to a problem with engine cover but in the picture you can see the oil filter in the left front of the engine.

Under car

I don't know why people make such a big deal about it. Other than the car being low so its more in your face (put on small ramps), it takes about the same time if not quicker than the mytivac.

its defenitely quicker if u go under but i leave in the area where houses dont have garages or driveways so we park on the street and we obviously cannot work on cars on big paking lots even in autozone or advance auto parts parking lots.. they just wont let us.

Just did an oil change with mytivac that was purchased in amazaon for 75. Really eazy tool to use, took about 20 min to suck all the oil out which was approximately 6 liters. Called mbdealership to make sure the capasity of oil in the engine, guy on the phine said 5 liters i guess he was wrong. Changing filter was a pain had to purchase oil filter removal tool from advanceparts which was 7 dollars totaly worth it. So it took me about 1 hour because i didnt have tool, next time should take me 30-40 min to change the oil. Dont have to lyft the car or anything. Will use mytivac on my other cars.

Yep as I mentioned the oil filter wrench would probably have been necessary lol.

7.5 liters for 4matic c300, 8.5 for rwd c300 (side note why is this so?)

yea, even dealer said 5 liters. Dont know what it is, Maybe new engine because 12-14 c300 are 3.5 liter v6 but since it has more liters, it has to have more capacity but in this case it has less.

A clarification ... it's in quarts not liters, exactly 7.4 qts for 4matic and 1 more quart for rwd I believe.
I took out 6.5 liters which is about 6.9 qts after 8k miles. It's correct because I put in 7 qts the last oil change.

Odd, my car uses 8.5 quarts and is a 4Matic. Maybe because I do an oil change every 3k-5K miles.

P.S I am **** about my car lol

That is how dealerships usually do, they do not care 4matic or Rwd My recent oil change, I put in 7 1/2 qts and it was slight above the full mark.

my mytivac that i have is in liters, thats why i posted in liters. Searched through the manual, it actually says 6.5 liters which is 6.86 quats. So 6.5L for 12-14 c300 4matic's.
