Fumoto Valve F316L

I bought the below Fumoto oil drain valve for my '13 C300 but it didn't quite fit. It seems to need an additional extension since the valve does not sit flush against the oil pan. Has anyone run with the same problem?

did u use the washer that came with it. I bought one of those valves but decided against its use because after screwing in to oil pan it seemed like the screw part goes to deep into pan and I worried about it not draining all the oil. I tested one on my sons toyota and drained the oil with valve in, after oil stopped I removed the valve and more oil came out of the pan. just my opinion

In that case, can't you just take a grinder to the screw part of the valve and and match that to the length of the threaded part of the oil pan?

FWIW, I understand why one would want to install this valve, however the easiest way would be to vacuum the oil out using an extractor and leaving the drain plug alone.

Please explain to an old bloke why you would fit this valve?

My guess...

#1 The OP does not know or want to use the extraction method.
#2 The OP wants a cleaner way to drain oil if #1 is true.

All my cars and trucks I ever owned had one, including my ML350. I'm an old school kind of guy and would like the same for my C300. Having said that I think its time to try the extraction method.

Has anyone tried the extraction method and remove the drain valve if more comes out at the bottom?

Thanks, but I thought one used the dip stick tube to extract the oil?
