Illuminated Star Installation?

i ordered an illuminated grill star for my 2008 C300 and installed it and all. It came with a red and green wire and i wired it to the right fog light but the star kept blinking, so i wired it to a parking lamp and it works, but is very dim.

is there anything else i can wire it to that could give it more power? (Sidemarkers dont work either).
maybe the headlights?
and how would i do it? (Since no wires are color coded, and the headlight wires are all black like the parking lamps)

Have you tried directly wiring it to the battery to see how bright it really is?

You could always find a 12v switched source, and tap it directly off that.

i have wired it to the battery and the LED's are the perfect brightness. I would have kept it connected but the star never turned off even when the car was off.

And are there any 12v switched sources? I'm looking for the star to at least turn on and off with full brightness when the car is on and off.

So grab a multimeter, and open the fuse box in the engine bay, and fine a 12v switched circuit, that only comes on when the ignition is on. Then wire it to that fuse, and connect the ground to the chassis.

Sorry i'm a huge noob and thank you so much for this information.
But do you know which fuse to use?
Also this is going to sound nooby, but how would i connect the ground to the chassis?

There must be a way to just tap into the headlights so it comes on when the lights are on only.

Keep it connected to the battery, but you need a relay which in turn needs to be triggered by either the parking light, sidemarker or headlight to turn the illuminated star off when the light is off.

You could try radio/stereo fuse, then you might need an add-a-circuit connector. Star will be bright as the battery approach. I prefer it lit up with parking lights turned on which is my current setup, but you need a relay as I mentioned or a manual switch.
To ground a connection, just find a screw sticking out from chassis and have it connected.

That seems doable. What exactly is an add-a-circuit connector though?

Hopefully that radio fuse is under the hood, otherwise it's a pain in the a$$ to route wire from inside the car.

If you've never done any electric work, maybe you should just pay a local shop $50 to install it. It may be less hassle for you in the end.
