V6 plastic engine covers. What is the adhesive used to glue on dampening material?

Dumb question but I have tried a few options and none have worked.

That fibrous/papery sound or heat dampening material that is glued to the underside of the plastic engine covers has given way on my front cover. I have tried a couple spray adhesives like 3M and Elmer's and both did not work and only held for a day or so.

I think I need a heat proof adhesive of some kind so if anyone can suggest something that would be great. This is a small but very annoying issue.

I called the dealership and they had no clue what I should use.

A marine silicone adhesive should work. Clean the surface well though.

I just tried regular 3M Super 77 spray adhesive that failed but this stuff looks like it will work. I think I may have answered my own question. I did not find this item when I searched for a heat proof adhesive before.

The thing about spray adhesive is it doesn't build up and won't absorb into the foam to grab it, but this imho.

I understand what you mean as when I used the 3M 77 spray it did not really absorb into the dampening material.
