Gearbox update or pedal box to eliminate lazy 5g box
Just phoned an independent Mercedes garage for a software update on the gearbox and he said a pedal box would be more effective dealing with the lag from the 5g box. Anyone invested in one? Are they worth it?

Contact tornado tuning for their pedal box, most affordable unit on the market and it's essentially the same as the competition. I have it and it works well. However, you should keep in mind, the 5g gears are longer thus making you feel like it's lazy. My friends with the 7g will kill me light to light but on the highway is where the 5g really shines.

I like my 5 g . It's about getting to know it i.e. change points & when to throttle off to prevent unnecessary changes.
It is said to be a lot more robust than the 7g with longer life when cared for.
The more gears an ATM has the more changes it makes. With the added torque available from a diesel a 7g is not required as much.
