Learned today my car has NAV (albeit non-functioning)
Low and behold I went to my car this morning and sure enough when I held down CLR the nav popped right up. I blame Mercedes-Benz for this as there are no owners manual supplements nor were there any on screen NAVI options (I fixed that part and now it displays when you hit Disc).
Well low and behold it does not appear to be functional, it's there but just does not work. It seemed to find my location initially but when I input a route it calculated but never gave guidance and my location on the map never moved even after ~10 minutes of driving. Not to mention it seems to be missing major roads that I know have been in existence way longer than the W204 has been around.
So couple questions.
1) Does MB even support what seems to be their red-headed stepchild of the W204 nav systems, seems their nav updates are just for DVD based system.
2) Is it even worthwhile to try to get it working? Guessing it probably needs a new antennae and an update. Looking at resale value it really only adds $150-200 so getting it working may be at a loss.
Thanks in advance!
If you want it to work, have you pulled the module out and put it back in? Is there a reset buttong? I don't know much about the module, but it should be able to be updated via USB. Might want to try google for more on that
