Have you ever sewn before? If you haven't I'd say it takes about an hour. If you have, its easy compared to other sewing jobs so getting it done shouldn't take nearly as long.

Looks good bahnstormer! But 6 hours?!?!

Also have seen a few companies that do the carbon fiber steering wheels here on the forums do rewraps! Does not seem very common for some reason. Its a nice mod!

also, you could prob drop your car off to a local automotive marine upholstery shop, give them the cover and it will prob come out with excellent results and minimal labor time. those guys could do it with their eyes closed.

i might get one of these myself. nice product Adi

Thanks!

And I'm suprised that what you mentioned has not crossed my mind at all...you are right, a shop could easily install these pretty effortlessly, and being that it shouldn't take them too long, the labor cost should be pretty cheap. Similar in the way when people go to get their exhaust mods done the shop will install the diffuser for them for a small fee. Thanks for bringing that up!

"Looks good barnstormer! But 6 hours?!?!"

Between cutting and placing the 3M double-sided tape and then stitching up four very difficult and awkward to access sections, yes it took me every bit of 6 hours. Google "Chinese leather steering wheel cover install car forums" and see how long it usually takes others to do this mod. An hour - must be the world's fastest seamstress.

Well it looks like you definitely ended up doing a good job regardless.

In that case if anyone needs help putting it on, we can set up a time and a live chat so I can help them tackle the install.

3 Spoke is a bit easier than 4 spoke, but in no way should it take that long. I don't know how long ago you did it but I could have tried to help you. If in the future you do another wrap let me know.

Yeah it turns out even if we could just add paddles, it is really expensive. Not worth the money imo, very expensive just for the paddle setup alone.

Was checking out wheelskins covers. Wow they look terrible lmao.

No worries on the misspelling and thanks for the kind words Adi-Benz. I'm super meticulous so I probably took much longer than what would normally be required. Plus it was my first time installing one of these covers and that has to be factored in as well. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it came out, a few minor wrinkles here and there but nothing to really worry about. The extra meatiness factor alone is worth the price of admission IMHO. Here's before and after shots - you can see the unsightly blemishing of my stock grey leather wheel.

Well hey thats a good thing ^^ in the after picture, your car looks like it just came out of the factory! I agree though, definitely a worthy upgrade. I was a bit disappointed at the original wheel in the w204; and in fact, the first thing considered was a steering wheel swap before even buying the car haha. The facelifts got a bit better at least.

Just randomly throwing this out there, but I've been working on a carbon fiber one. Some tests look promising, and if all goes well the design will look great. In my mind, it will eliminate the need to swap the steering wheel unless you want a flat bottom.

Special thanks to my friends+cousin in Italy

That's nice but if anyone wants a cheap alternative, look for 2010-2011 e350 sport steering wheels. They are flat bottom and an exact match the the c63 flat bottom steering wheel but people don't know this and you can find them really cheap on ebay.

^ This is mine and I got it for 120$ on ebay, direct fit on my 2008 c300, air bag fits well and feels 10x better then the plain round oem wheel.

Wow, great find. I can't believe that no one has ever mentioned it on the forums, since it's kind of obvious. Have any pics installed? For the price it looks like a nice oem style option.

Here's my setup; The OEM airbag fits a little tighter on the corners resulting in having to press a little harder to get the horn going but when I use my horn, Im usually angry so I smack it anyways haha.

Looks good. I wonder why we have to use the c63 air bag.

Because of thicker 9-3 position and the bottom of the air bag is a little shorter on the c63, regardless it fits with the stock airbag, just makes the horn a little harder to press, no big issue for me.

I would rather cut off the old leather on the wheel and re-wrap with new??

Anyone else like cruising with one hand set right at the 6:00 position?
That's why I enjoy a 4 spoke wheel.

OEM leather is glued on and would be hard to remove. You also lose the advantage of a little extra thickness.

I drive with one hand on the 8 o clock position. 90% of the time haha. I can rest my arm on the door rest. Other hand is shifter (ik, auto)

I will have to pm you when I get back from vacation. My inbox is currently full, so when I get back and you receive the message it should be opened up.

The wraps are made custom to order so when you order it, that's when we make your design.

Thanks

Will you have ones made to fit flat bottom facelift wheels? Now that I finally retrofitted mine, kinda regret it as I need to constantly clean the suede on my wheel *facepalm*
