Resistors for modifying to LED front turn signals

Hi,

Would anyone know where in the wiring harness that plugs into the headlight I can find the relevant wire to attach a resistor to? The turn signal bulb holder itself has only a metallic contact ring that clearly makes contact with the power source when replaced in its location.

Sourced some nice looking LEDs but they give error messages and cause the foglights to flash instead! Thought it would be an easy mod but now not so sure! Vendor alleges no error messages, but probably just repeating what their supplier told them.

Headlamp units are xenon low beam/halogen high beam and its an early 2009 European model:zoom:

Should have used aznoptics, the vendor on here. Turn signals from him are plug n play. Don't bother with resistors. Get the right bulbs.

Yeah, tried that a couple of years ago but unfortunately AZN only carries turn signal LEDs with a fitting suitable for US/Canada cars. Our Euro model cars have offset bayonet pin fittings similar to older light bulbs. AZN were very helpful, but in the end nothing came of it. The LEDs I got here in the UK looked the biz, and were supposed to be error free but in the end weren't. The company reimbursed me so I'm not out anytthing, just looking for a solution.

Euro spec should be 7507 front signals. We have LEDs for that with the proper resistance and flasher IC.

AZN Website says that when used as turn signals, external resistors must be used. also need orange color not white. Actual text for the product doesn't mention it. Is it a later discovery? Just want to be sure before I go ahead and order!

You're looking at the wrong product. You should be looking at the 7507 that have the Flasher IC.

Michael, Thanks for help. Not familiar with the #reference, but the pins on my bulbs are in line but offset. Thats to say, closer to each other one side than the other. Sorry for awkward description, hope its clear! Have ordered with you today.

Ordered turn signal LEDs from AZN, correct ones this time. Arrived this week and fitted them straight away - great! No faults or issues. They look good too, much sharper and briighter, matching the turn signals in my mirrors (later OEM LED ones) and rear lamps - also OEM LEDs.

Thanks Michael!:zoom:
