2014 Mercedes C300 4Matic Sport - New Owner
Been Driving it for 2 months now and everything has been smooth and loving the ride. Its big difference from my 2011 Nissan Altima.
However one thing that has been bothering me is the gas mileage. I live in Boston ( typical New England weather) and my daily commute is 3 miles one way with frequent stops city traffic often uphill. I have been getting around 14-15 mpg ( sometimes even 12-13 mpg) driving in eco mode with frequent stops ave speed of 25 -30mph. I know in winter the usual mileage decreases by few mpg due to lot of factors.
Is this gas mileage normal.. Would love your thoughts and inputs.
Thanks in advance.
Considering your frequent short trips and low speeds I don't think that is unusual. The car probably doesn't even get up to normal operating temperature in that short of a distance. Plus, if the speed you travel is only between 25-35 mph, whith frequent sops, I bet your average speed is probably much less, maybe like 15mph or less. That kills gas mileage. I bet if you took a freeway ride of 20 miles or more at posted speed you would see your average fuel economy go up significantly.
BTW - when you get tired of the ECO crap....: http://www.midcityengineering.com/pr...s-benz-eco212/
Just put it in my newly acquired Palladium 2013 C300 and problem solved. I hate that ECO nonsense.
