Nothing is keeping me back. Im just being lazy to deal with the hassle of looking for a car and the right spec and package i want, at the same time its exciting to go look at cars. LOL I'm actually looking at a 2014-15 c63 and q50s right now.

I live in the West and take road trips often in the West. Many times we are many miles and several days from a run flat brick.
I like my full size spare tire and decent Michelin tires.
Will not be buying any car with no spare tire and run flats.
May have to go back to BMWs that are now being offered again with a spare tire and decent tires.

My loan is almost paid off and my car has numerous upgrades. It still looks and runs great. Nobody puts baby in the corner!

It's easy to buy a full size wheel on ebay and no problem to find a tire for it. It fits in the spare well- as does the wheel that comes off of the car. I have a lux, so 1 size tire fits all. For my previous C300 Sport, I bought the smaller wheel for the spare.

2015 C63S AMG
Even though I hated to do it at the time, I went from an '09 C63 to a '15 C63S. My reasons were no warranty, I was in the head bolt danger zone, and the lack of rear seat room (my dang kids keep getting bigger!). The W205 solved them all. The 4L sounds great, but the 6.2L was definitely more pure. You really can't go wrong with either one!

This is fantastic information. Thank you.

I'm about to go on a long extended drive and wanted to carry a full size spare.

Sorry to derail this thread though...

Let's say I end up with this configuration

FRONT L | R : 225 45 17 | 225 45 17
Rear L | R: 245 40 17 | 225 45 17

Is that a problem? I'm hoping to take with me a full size winter spare rim and tire to replace the donut. But if I blow one of the tires in the back, what if I end up in the configuration above? Problem or not?

Thanks!

You don't say whether you have a 4 Matic or not. If not, I don't beieve you will have any problem. Experts please chime in. If you have a 4 Matic , I wouldn't drive 1000 miles with the different size tires on the back, but, I don't believe that you would do much harm with a temporary drive like that. After all, it's probably closer in size than the donut. If a donut is OK, your proposed configuration should be OK. Just my 2 cents.

My rear wheel would fit but was too wide to sit into the spare tire well. I'm 4matic. I wish I could do it tho..

After 8.5 years, it still looks and drives like new and has only cost me $3150 in maintenance and repair...that and the Alfa Giulia doesn't come with a manual trans.

Precisely my thought, thanks.

Yes, I drive a 4matic.

My winter set is 225 45 17 all around, so that's why I thought of bringing one of those rims/tires as a backup instead since I'm on my summer staggered setup right now

Money for me as well. That, and my car still meets all my needs. It has been extremely reliable, with a tune it is fast enough, with an xpipe it sounds amazing, and with my facelift/aesthetic mods it looks sexy.

All my friends have new 435i, 440i, 535i, range rovers and M6's.

I had been eyeing a couple m235i's or maybe M2's in a few years...but...

Trying to save up for more important things, like a house.

W205
recently my alternator died but otherwhise it was problem free since 7 years.
also my car looks a little different then other W204's so that is an other reason to keep it.
don't really want to put money again in changing a new car to have a personal look

I agree with you on all your points. I too hate direct injection primarily because of the carbon build up ...but my wifes Mercedes is a 2013 and it has direct injection.
I thought all the engines from 2011 to 2014 had direct injection?

wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_C-Class_(W204)
"W204 facelift (2011–2014)

All the engine variants are now classed as BlueEFFICIENCY units. All petrol engine models include direct injection."

Mercedes w204 4matic sport
I bought it because it's a solid car and believed it will be good plus fit my needs for the most part. New cars just have too many problems and I don't like most of them.

But, by far the biggest reason I wouldn't trade it for a new car is I actually enjoy driving it even though it's an auto and really like the looks of it. I'd have gotten rid of it long ago if I didn't lol.

I must have remembered it wrong. I though my 2011 does not have DI which started from 2012 on.

wiki could be wrong ....but I have not found that to be the case too often ...most of the reviews I have read mentioned DI also in 2011 or some form of it.

Did a bit more research...it appears they were using the M272 engine and then changed to M276 somewhere in 2011? ....so if you have the M272 you may direct injection or port injection but if you have M276 it appears to only be DI.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_M276_engine

"The Mercedes-Benz M276[1] engine is a direct injected, V6 gasoline automotive piston engine."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_M272_engine

" M272 engines have aluminum engine blocks with a 90° vee angle with silicon/aluminum lined cylinders. The aluminum DOHC cylinder heads have 4 valves per cylinder. Direct injection is used in a limited fashion on the 3.5 L V6, whereas others use conventional port fuel injection."

I would have kept my 2015 c63 507 coupe many years if I had not been rear ended by a truck.

I have an Amy GT now though so I'm not complaining.

Well-when I searched out my brand new polar white 2014 C63 sedan, I did so as it was the car I was going to keep a while, my intention was 7+ years, maybe longer. Last year of the C63 6.2L sedan. I got all the right performance features (differential, AMG performance media, etc) and was happy. It was the last of the big N/A V8's, it had a more boxy, sharp line, defined look than the new rounder and softer sedan............then, the new C63s Coupe came along, wider, more bad a$$, handled much better, and the potential to go a bunch faster, so I did the unthinkable, got rid of the '14 to order a coupe.
