New wheels and bearing dust cover
Hey Guys,
I finally bought my summer wheels and I've put them on last week. I absolutly love the look.
The offset is perfect, flush to the fender on both the front and the rear and there's no rubbing issue.
Front: 18x8 ET40
Rear: 18x9 ET40
Now for the problem, I can't install the front center caps because they hit the front bearing dust covers. It's really close actually, like maybe only 2 or 3mm of clearance would be necessary.
I've been looking at other center caps options (more raised ones) but unfortunately, the options for my cap size (68mm) are really limited.
I will not remove the dust caps that's for sure. What are my other options? Is there enough clearance in the dust cap itself to hammer hit or maybe shave it?
I don't want to use spacers cause that would probably mean the wheels would be poking out and I already love the fitment.
After some research I came down to these possible solutions for this problem:
Do you guys have any ideas for me? What would you recommend?
Thanks!

- Hammering or shaving the dust covers
- Painting black the dust cover
- Using spacers
- Finding raised center caps that would fit the wheels

You can take the dust cover off especially if you will be putting the center caps on. I've removed the dust caps on numerous cars I've owned without issue. I wouldn't suggest it without running center caps, but with the center caps minimal dust/dirt will get back in there.
Option 2: Paint or powdercoat them.
