Any ideas about the iron number?

Yes, I did idle a fair bit, but nothing extreme, I think. I'm VERY glad that I didn't run it to 20,000km as MB Canada told me to.

Thoughts?

Interesting.

I wonder why does idling up the iron levels? Lower oil pressure?

Why do you idle for long periods?

Idle long periods = max, say 20 minutes.

Why? Hot summer days, cold winter nights and I'm sometimes just in my car waiting to see a customer so my car is idling. I always try to apply a bit of throttle every say 5-10 minutes for a bit to boost oil pressure.

I do rev the snot out of this car once in a while, say on the highway, and redline quite a fair bit. (never when the engine is cold of course). I do drive fast, and aggressively.

Not sure if this is a reason for high iron? Thoughts?

Thanks

Some interesting discussion here:

I'm not sure if this is within TOS or not. If not, mods please delete. I just wanted to provide some additional feedback from fellow fora members on the internet.
