Performance Upgrades

Before everyone starts commenting "trade for a C63", I'd like to state that I'm in no way reaching for 300hp. Quite frankly I'd be happy with 250hp 250 tq, anything over that I'd be extremely happy with. I am just curious to know if anyone has added high flow cats to the stock system paired with an x pipe. Did anyone notice a sound difference? I know the cat will add max 5hp but is it even worth the money (and by worth I mean is anything noticeably different i.e. Sound). I'm looking into headers as well but I can't seem to find anything other than kleeman? A lot of help would be greatly appreciated.

Ps tried the search bar but to no prevail.

Get a tune on E85 and I'm sure you'll make the 250 HP and TQ goal.

I got the Eurocharged ECU tune where they advertise 246HP and 238TQ for the 3.0L M272 with 91 octane. The eurocharged Canada site states 259HP and 250TQ with 93 octane. I can request the 93 octane map and use it if I mix 91 and 100 since thats all my area has. I also have an 100 octane map that I can load as well. I wonder what numbers I'll get with 100 octane...

I spoke with Eurocharged about ethanol tuning and they said that it would auto tune up with the 91 octane tune/map I currently have. I guess they just up the numbers on mercedes stock e85 tune. Though, I think I tried ethanol on my tune once and I was pretty unimpressed; it didn't really feel any different than stock tune on ethanol. I'm feeling a little skeptical to be honest. I feel like they haven't even touched the ethanol map.

I see you're running an x pipe but would you think anymore exhaspust upgrades would add any more power?

A tune and a good set of tires will be the best performance upgrade you can do to this car. The rest is fluff and is catered to individual taste.

I did a lot of research many years ago before I installed the x pipe and before many other people did either. I think it came down to losing a little bit of low end torque in exchange for a little bit of high end horsepower. We are dealing with less than a couple hp/tq though. If I remember correctly, the stock resonator isn't very restrictive anyways so the benefits of an x pipe are minimal.

I did it purely for the sound and I would have to say it has brought me the most joy of all my mods and is the best bang for buck mod imo. I paid $150 out the door. $100 for a magnaflow x-pipe and $50 for install. It puts a smile on my face every time I gas it, even at low RPM.

All the performance information is from my (Bad) memory and from many years ago, so please take it a grain of salt.
