clicking noise

clicking noise
whenever i start my car or while its at idle i hear this clicking noise coming from somewhere in the engine compartment. i have no idea what it is but it seems to be getting a little louder as time goes on. the car runs perfectly fine so i don't think its anything to worry about, hopefully, but its just annoying and i would love any feedback on what it could possibly be.

Open the hood & with a good flash light see where it is coming from.
A stethoscope may be handy for diagnosis.
