W204 class coupe cdi 2012 bottom rad hose replacement
Hello fellow MBWorld drivers
I'm looking for some DIY advice, I will be changing the bottom rad hose on a C250 cdi 2012, and was looking for tips and advice from you, more knowledgable diy,ears out before I tackle the job.
All advice greatly appreciated, for the common goal of keeping our MB,s running as they should without the dreaded dealer prices.

Interested to know why you would need to change the btm. radiator hose on a 2012 vehicle?
I have not done it so am not any use.
I doubt that you will be able to save the coolant as I could not find a drain on my 2007 220CDI when changing the thermostat.WIS says there is one.So you will need a few bottles of coolant from the dealer & some demineralised water from the supermarket to mix 50/50.
I could not find the capacity of the radiator anywhere but put back in what was taken out.You could do the same to be sure that you do not have an airlock.
When after filling I replace the cap & squeeze all large hoses when warming up the engine.I also remove the radiator cap ,seal my cheeks on it & blow for a few seconds.You may have to seal the overflow if there is one with a pair of pliers. Careful when the engine is becoming hot.
To let the engine block & head warm up slowly & help remove any air locks, I stop the engine a few times & wait a few minutes for the engine to warm up evenly . Whilst waiting more squeezing & blowing. Keep feeling the outlet hose & the thermostat for indication that the coolant is heating up flowing.
I see MB use a pressure or vacuum bleeding system.

The reason for me changing the btm hose, I did a full service and while I was under the car, I checked all water hoses, the bottom hose has a small crack on it , so I'll replace rather wait for it to blow on the freeway, when it will be raining, torrential flooding, blowing a gale, or any other natural disasters that always happen when you breakdown unexpectedly lol.
The hose was $150 + $50 for the coolant, the hose is easily push off, push on fitting so it would be a no brainier not to do.
Thanks for the tips on bleeding, I'm doing the job tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it does.
