Melted plastic in headlights, headlamp error
Dear Gents,
I am experiencing annoying issue on my W204. I got error on my dashboard computer that headlight is faulty. I have changed all bulbs for 5 Watt version.
Once I opened frond headlights cover for those bulbs I was shocked. Plastics surrounding bulb was melted and cabling has damaged PVC isolation.
I wanted to buy bulb plastics connector at a Mercedes dealer but it has to be bought with headlight for f...cking 250 euro!!!!!! So I have bought DYI connectors and I just have re-soldered it.
I have double-checked at dealer there shall be 5 watt bulb indeed.
One left bulb has become OK but right is still fault on dashboard computer no matter that headlight is lighting.
I can not get how bloody 5 watt bulb can melt plastics inside headlights.
Any advice would be highly welcomed.
