W204 NEED HELP

Hi I have recently replaced original new parts for my W204 C200K

1) front & rear shock absorber (incl. mounting, stopper & dust cover)
2) upper & lower arm + bushing
3) engine & gearbox mounting
4) 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires

However my car still feel very "bumpy" & "shaky" when in motion on uneven road. What else could be the cause of it???

Desperately need some advice.....TQVM

What size wheels and tires do you have?

Are your wheels balanced properly or is one of your new tires out of round.

Tyre pressures too high?. Is the ride just rough & hard over uneven surfaces or does it sway around?

Tyre pressure is normal

The ride is rough and hard only over uneven road

When you mentioned sway does it mean the car body "rock" along the horizontal, left right and front back position

Are they sports shockers ie giving a harder ride. 17" tyres compared with 16" don't help. You may not be "used" to the new components.

Sway, Yes, unusual body movement on the suspension.

Were the arm bushes tightened when the suspension was in the normal position off the jacks?

I would drive a similar car somewhere (dealer) to compare.

Good luck.

I think its your sport suspension and you're not used to it. I have the Luxury model and just had new shocks and struts replaced. The car still rides poorly over bumps or rough roads. Sport is much stiffer than Luxury, and Lux still feels bumpy.

I would agree that it is your sport suspension. my 204 is definitely not compliant on rough surfaces. I would make sure everything that was replaced was put back together properly. You can also have issues with bumps/shakes if you have a bent wheel even if they balanced the tires.

Perhaps you are noticing it now due the new shocks are back stiff like they should be when new and you’re old ones were shot and made the ride soft.

Thank you all for sharing.

I understood that the absorber are new however it seems rather too hard and makes the driving very uncomfortable and not enjoyable as compared previously before i changed these parts.

A car
Try running 28psi in the front and 33 psi in the rear. This is supported by Mercedes (I have posted a PDF on this in the past). This helped my ride tremendously.
